Yeddyurappa to visit US to woo investors

Bangalore, Aug 21 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, accompanied by his cabinet colleagues and legislators, will undertake a week-long tour to United States to woo investors.

Talking to newspersons after chairing the State High Level Clearance Committee (SHLCC) Meeting here, he said ''I want to utilise my tour of US to attract investors from people of Karnataka origin settled there and also others, who are interested.'' The State would conduct 'Suvarna Karnataka Global Investors Meet' in January next year and road shows would be organised in various major cities within and outside to highlight the advantages and major strengths of Karnataka. The meet was expected to draw top decision makers from the international and national investor community, he said.

He said a brochure 'Samrudha Karnataka' has been released highlighting the facilities available, investment opportunities in various fields, including infrastructure, health, tourism projects.

He said a committee headed by Large and Medium Industries Minister Murugesh R Nirani has already been sent to conduct road shows in various states and abroad to woo investors.

Mr Yeddyurappa will be participating in the fifth Kannada conference organised by Association Kannada Kootas of America (AKKA) in Chicago, scheduled to be held from August 29 to 31.

Home minister denies calling people of Bihar Beggars
