Tulip Telecom gets Gold Certification from Cisco

New Delhi, Aug 21 (UNI) Tulip Telecom Ltd, a Rs 1,242 crore company, today said it has achieved Gold Certification from Cisco, the worldwide leader in networking.

''Recognition from Cisco for our technical ability to sell and support their products will help Tulip to ensure that it meets the high standards laid down by Cisco globally for high quality of support,'' said company CMD Lt Col H S Bedi.

Tulip Telecom Ltd, formerly Tulip IT Services Ltd, is the leading enterprise communications service provider. Its data network has the largest reach of over 1,200 locations in India.

The company has a national presence with over 2,300 employees and over 950 customers across the country.

Tulip designs, implements and manages communication networks of large enterprises on long term contracts to include enterprise communications connectivity, network integration, managed and value-added services.

UP govt denies withdrawal of VAT in UP

Lucknow, Aug 21 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh government today rejected the Samajwadi Party's demand to withdraw the Value Added Tax (VAT) regime in the state and attributed the price hike of essential commodities due to a petroleum price rise. State Parliamentary Affairs minister Lalji Verma in the State Assembly said the implementation of VAT in the state from January one, 2008 was not responsible for the price hike. 160 cross sides in Karvan-e-Aman bus in Kashmir

Srinagar, Aug 21 (UNI) As many as 160 residents of the Kashmir valley and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) crossed sides at Aman Setu on the Line of Control (LOC) today after the Karvan-e-Aman Bus Service between Srinagar-Muzaffarbad, capital of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), resumed its journey. The service was suspended on August 14 in view of the unrest in the state due to Amarnath land row and ''Muzaffarabad chalo'' agitation. Officials said 60 people arrived here from POK.....

SBI donates for charitable hospital in rural Bengal

Kolkata, Aug 21 (UNI) SBI's chief general manager (Bengal circle) Jayanta Kumar Sinha today inaugurated an operation theatre at Suvendu Memorial Seva Pratishan, a full fledged eye hospital, a non-profit organisation, at Gobrapota in Nadia district.
