Sporting club de Goa pips Dempo by 6-4 via tie breaker

Panaji, Aug 21 (UNI) Sporting club de Goa brushed aside the challenge of formidable Dempo sports 6-4 via tie breaker after a 1-1 draw in regulation time in the Budweiser charity match organised by Goa Football Association (GFA), being played at Tilak ground Vasco da game today.

The match was locked in a 1-1 draw during the regulation time. The deadlock had to be resolved vie tie breaker for Sporting club de Goa Bisheswar Singh, Mickky Fernandes, N Singh, Joseph Pereira and Wilson Gomes, who converted the spot kicks while for Dempo Anthony Pereira, Leveno Fernandes and Simon Fernandes converted correctly. Earlier, in the evenly balanced match, Dempo surged ahead in the 24th minute of the first half through Cresan Antao, off a well measured pass from Roberto Mednes d Silva to make it 1-0.

The lead was short lived as Sporting club de Goa bounced back accelerating the pace of the game and restored the parity through Joseph Pereira off a cross sent from the left flank by Freddy Mascarenhas.

The GFA Secretary Savio Messias said the gate collection of this match -- Rs 81,000, will go to this years beneficiary player late Baburao Kalangutkar's family.

CERC proposes new inter-State trading regulation 2008

New Delhi, Aug 21 (UNI) The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission today proposed inter-State trading regulations 2008, rather than going for amendment to the existing regulation 2004. The CERC promulgated inter-State trading regulations in 2004 which were amended in 2006. The Electricity Act 2003 recognises trading as a separate licenced activity.
