Mixed trend in Gold, Silver market in opening session

Mumbai, Aug 21: A mixed trend was seen in the precious metals in the opening session today with silver easing by Rs 185 per kg to Rs 21,020 on lack of fresh demand, while gold rising by Rs 30 per ten gm to open at Rs 11,730 on good demand from ornament makers, traders at the Bombay Bullion Association said.

Though a mixed trend was observed in domestic market, in international market an upward march was registered as gold rose to USD 813.70/815.70 an ounce from USD 810.35/811.75 an ounce, while silver also edged up to USD 13.25/13.31 an ounce from USD 13.15/13.21 late in New York, Singapore market report stated.

Following were the opening domestic spot rates: Silver (per kg) 999 fineness grade: Rs 21,020 Gold (per 10 gm): 99.5 purity standard mint: Rs 11,730 99.9 purity pure gold: Rs 11,790.

Precious metals recover on better buying support
