Pak originated RDX, Chinese grenades recovered in Reasi

Jammu, Aug 21 (UNI) Security forces today busted a militant hideout and recovered four kg RDX of Pakistan origin, along with Chinese grenades in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources here said.

''Based on specific information, the troops of 54 Rashtriya Rifles, Uniform Force and state police busted a hideout in village Loharki this morning,'' official sources told UNI ''Fourteen Chinese hand grenades, one Chinese pistol, four RPG rounds, four RPG boosters, four kg explosive (Pakistan origin), seven remote control IED mechanism, 11 IED receivers, four magazines, huge quantity of assorted ammunitions and other warlike stores were recovered from the hideout in natural cave,'' they said.

Protesters in Jammu attempt to disrupt supplies

Jammu, August 21 : Continuing with their protests over the shrine land row demonstrators ransacked a vehicle of the State's Food and Supplies Department on Thursday in Jammu. Situation remained tense although there was no day curfew in the region, as protesters tried to block the roads and prevented vehicular movement in the city. Security stepped up at Dwarkadhish Temple ahead of Janmashtami

Dwarka (Gujarat), August 21 : Gujarat police have tightened up security at the revered Dwarkadhish temple ahead of Janmashtami, the birthday of the Hindu god, lord Krishna. Lord Krishna is believed to have lived in Dwarka and the people in this ancient city exhibit a certain sense of belongingness to the deity. Gang of bike lifters busted, 19 bikes recovered

Chandigarh Augt 21 (UNI) The Haryana Police has busted a gang of motorcycle lifters resulting in the recovery of 19 motorcycles in Karnal. Two members of the gang namely Sandeep alias Sonu and Rinku alias Kala, residents of Gharaunda, were arrested and during interrogation they confessed to have committed theft of 11 motorcycles, out of which 6 motorcycles had been recovered. Further investigation was in progress and the accused were on police remand till.....
