Mortar shells fired from Pak on Army in Nowshera

Jammu, Aug 21 (UNI) The troops of Indian Army today escaped unhurt when mortar shells fired from Pakistan hit the Indian post on the Line of Control (LoC) in Nowshera Sector of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir, official sources here said.

''The shells were fired from across the border hit the Indian post somewhere on the LoC in Nowshera Sector at around 0700 hrs,'' Defence Spokesman Lt Col S D Goswami said.

''It is, however, yet to be confirmed who fired from across the border either militants or Pakistani troops,'' he added.

India urged to sign CTBT to enforce Iraq's treaty

Stating that three countries in the Asian region are required to enforce the treaty, he referred India, North Korea and Pakistan to sign the treaty.
