Lt Gen VS Tonk takes over command of Vajra Corps

Jalandhar, Aug 21 (UNI) Lt Gen VS Tonk today took the charge of GOC of Vajra Corps from Lt Gen SS Kumar, who is taking over as QMG at Integrated Headquarters of Ministry of Defence (Army), New Delhi.

Lt Gen VS Tonk is an alumnus of Sainik School, Kunjpura and Indian Military Academy. He was commissioned on November 14, 1971 into The Rajput Regiment.

The General Officer has commanded his Battalion, an Infantry Brigade and a Mountain Division. Prior to assuming his appointment he was posted at Integrated Headquarters of Ministry of Defence (Army), New Delhi.

During his illustrious career, the Gereral Officer has held various important staff, instructional and command assignments.

Puducherry, Aug 21: Excise police on Thursday, Aug 21 unearthed an illegal liquor manufacturing unit at Mudaliarpet here and arrested seven people.
