JMSDF visits Indian waters from 23 - 26 Aug

New Delhi, Aug 21 (UNI) Japanese Defence Ships Kashima (Training Ship), Asagiri and Umigiri will visit Mumbai from August 23 to 26.

Both JDS Asagiri and Umigiri are frontline destroyers with a displacement of 2500 tonnes and carry Sea Hawk Helicopter.

JDS Kashima is a 5000 tonnes training ship and embarks 115 Midshipmen trainee officers of JMSDF.

During their stay they would be visiting the Indian ships and have interactions with functionaries of the Navy. On 26th they will be participating in PASSEX along with Indian Fleet Ships comprising Delhi class and Corvette. The PASSEX would involve OOW Manoeuvres, Flying Exercise, Cross Deck Flying, Photo Exercise, Underway Replenishment, Jackstay and Steam Past amongst other.

Four thousand meters long runway at Delhi Airport

New Delhi, Aug 21: The Delhi Airport unveils country's longest four thousand meters long runway on Thursday, Aug 21. The inaugural ceremony started with the landing of an Air India aircraft. Two brand new fire engines gave it a grand water cannon welcome. The first commercial test flight is slated for Thursday, Aug 21.
