IT raids on heart specialists in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad, Aug 21 (UNI) The Income Tax department today launched a massive search operation in hospitals and residential premises of over dozen well-known heart specialists in the city.

The raid is being conducted after the Department found anomalies in the income tax returns filed by some doctors who had established big hospitals on prime lands in partnerships, IT department sources said.

The officials are hoping to unearth a large amount of unaccounted wealth and assets at the end of the search operation which is expected to continue till late in the night, source added.

Eva Mendes to go for nip and tuck when she starts to sag

Cabinet approves ground water management and regulation scheme

New Delhi, Aug 21 (UNI) The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs(CCA) today approved continuation of the ongoing schemes of 'Ground Water Survey, Exploration and Investigation', 'Current Ground Water Authority' and 'Study of recharge to Ground Water' as one integrated scheme on 'Ground Water Managaement and Regulation. The scheme would be given Rs 460 Crore during the 11th Plan, an official statement said here. The Scheme will help in strengthening ground water resource management system, delineation.....

Airport to be reopened for visitors from tonight

Chennai, Aug 21 (UNI) Chennai Domestic and International Airport would be re-opened for visitors from tonight. Airport sources said the airport was closed for the visitors from August six to strengthen the security in view of the Independence Day celebrations. Last night, an unclaimed bag was found at the airport premises.
