Godrej Appliances targets 50 per cent growth

Kochi, Aug 21 (UNI) Godrej Appliances, a leading manufacturer in the appliance industry, is targeting a 50 per cent growth in the forthcoming Onam season.

Talking to newspersons here today, Ramesh Chembath, General Manager (Marketing) said though the indstry was growing only at nine to 10 per cent, Godrej was growing at 35 per cent in this fiscal across the country.

Announcing the ''Ee Onam Ponnonam'' offer, Mr Chembath said on every purchase of a Godrej AC, washing machine, microwave oven or refrigerator, the customer could get gold coins of different denominations or an assured gift of two piece non-stick cookware or a seven-piece glass pudding set.

He said the company was largely looking for growth from the high-end products like the 'Eon' category after having continously strenghthened its position in the 'mass premium' segment across categories.

Airtel to launch iPhone at midnight; prices 8GB for Rs 31,000

57 killed in Pak blast; Taliban claims responsibility

Islamabad, Aug 21 (UNI) At least 57 people were killed and more than 40 injured in twin suicide attacks near two gates of Pakistan's main armament manufacturing factory in Wah town today.
