Free plots to BPL, SC families from next month: Hooda

Chandigarh, Aug 21 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today said the process to allot free residential plots of 100 square yards to families living below the poverty line and those belonging to Scheduled Castes would commence next month.

To begin with, one village from each district would be chosen for allotment of plots to eligible beneficiaries, he said while addressing a conference of workers of the Congress of Ambala and Kurukshetra parliamentary constituencies in Kurukshetra today.

He said that cards to all 11 lakh BPL families would be issued by next month.

Although the Central government had listed 7.5 lakh families of BPL in Haryana to issue them cards, the state Government identified 11 lakh such families and they all would get similar facilities which would be given by the Central government.

He urged the workers to unitedly prepare for the next general elections and hoped that the Congress would win all the ten Lok Sabha seats in the State.

Mr Hooda said Haryana was the first state in the country to decide that the recommendations of the sixth pay commission would be implemented on the pattern of Central government.

On this occasion Mr Hooda, on behalf of MP Naveen Jindal, donated three air rifles and three air pistols to Kurukshetra Gurukul Shooting Range.
