Excise sleuths seize illicit liquor worth Rs four lakh

Betiah, Aug 21 (UNI) Bihar Excise department sleuths today raided a country-made liquor factory here and seized huge quantiity of illicit liquor.

Director of Excise Maheswar Dutt told UNI that acting on a tip-off the departmental sleuths, led by Excise Inspector Ravinder Kumar Singh, and assisted by the Jagdishpur police, raided the liquor factory at Jhakharia village, about 20 km from here.

During the search operation, illicit liquor worth about Rs four lakh, besides 350 litres of spirit, two socketing machines and several other materials, were recovered from the spot.

An FIR had been lodged in the local police station, police said, adding that no one was arrested so far.

Saffron activists court arrest over Amarnath issue
