Excise sleuths raid illicit country-made liquor factory

Betiah, Aug 21 (UNI) Bihar Excise department sleuths today raided a liquor factory here and seized huge quantity of country-made illicit liquor.

Director of Excise Maheswar Dutt told UNI that acting on a tip-off the departmental sleuths,led by excise inspector Ravinder Kumar Singh and assisted by the Jagdishpur police, raided the liquor factory at Jhakharia village, about 20 km from here.

During the search operation illicit liquor worth about Rs 400,000 besides 350 litres of spirit, two socketing achines, and several other materials were recovered from the spot.

Though an FIR had been lodged in the local police station, none was arrested so far.

Samajwadi party corporator arrested in Malegaon

High-powered gelatine seized from Bhutanese refugee

Gangtok, Aug 21 (UNI) High-powered gelatine sticks were recovered from a suspected Bhutanese person by Sikkim police yesterday at Rhenock, East Sikkim. Police today said the suspect Bhuddiman Bhujel (21) was roaming the Rhenock bazaar suspiciously with a friend when policemen stopped and searched them. Police recovered 20 high powered gelatine sticks from a bag belonging to the suspected duo. Seventy human skulls seized near Siliguri

Siliguri, Aug 21 (UNI) Darjeeling police today arrested two people including a 60-year-old woman, and seized some 70 human skulls and dozens of thigh bones from them at Panitanki bordering India and Nepal, about 30 km north from here.
