Dumariaganj SHO sent to police lines; new SHO appointed

Siddharthnagar, Aug 21 (UNI) Dumariaganj Station House Officer (SHO) Ramsher Bahadur Singh has been attached to police lines over suspicions over his links to a case, where Rs 5 lakh went missing from the residence of Sudhakar Tripathi, the prime accused in SBI fake currency racket and the suspended bank cashier.

Superintendent of Police R P Chaturvedi told UNI here today that the case has been given to senior superintendent of police for further probe.

Meanwhile, Jairam Gautam has been appointed as the new SHO Dumariaganj, he added.

4 policemen, including DSP hurt in mishap

Ariyalur, Aug 21 (UNI) Four police personnel, including a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), were seriously injured when a car in which they were travelling dashed against a road side tree at Vilangudi village near here last night. Scribes to stage dharna against attacks

Kozhikode, Aug 21 (UNI) The Kerala Union of Working Journalists (KUWJ) will stage a dharna here on August 23 in protest against growing attacks on journalists in the State. Mah Cabinet approves new forest policy

Mumbai, Aug 21 (UNI) The Maharashtra Cabinet today approved a new forest policy and formation of state forest advisory board. The new forest policy emphasises on formation of green fund for maintenance of the environment and forest science centre for the benefit of farmers. The policy has recommended increase in forest cover area to 33 per cent from the present 20.13 per cent. The policy also has guidelines about cutting of trees on non-forest land. The.....
