Dr Verma to head Science Council

Bhopal, Aug 21 (UNI) The Madya Pradesh government has appointed Dr Pramod K Verma as Director General of Madhya Pradesh Science and Technology Council.

He replaced Dr Mahesh Sharma, who had resigned, official sources said, adding at present Dr Verma was Professor of Applied Geology in the Ujjain's Vikram University.

The Departmental Minister had also been appointed Chairman of the Council's Executive Committee in place of the Director General, the sources added.

London, Aug 21 : American film actor Jon Voight has branded comedian Roseanne Barr "evil" for the tongue-lashing she doled out on his daughter Angelina Jolie, and her partner Brad Pitt. Barr had posted a very bitter tirade against Brangelina on her web site, calling the 'Tomb Raider' actress as the "evil spawn of actor Jon Voight" and Pitt as Jolie's "vacuous hubby." Washington, August 21 : A new report has suggested that the average person in the UK uses the equivalent of about 58 bathtubs full of water every day. The report is titled "UK Water Footprint: the impact of the UK's food and fibre consumption on global water resources". According to ENN (Environmental News Network), the report estimated that while each person in the UK drinks, hoses, flushes and washes their way through around 150 litres of mains water a day, they consume.....
