Chiranjeevi to address public on August 26

Hyderabad, Aug 21 (UNI) With the Supreme Court (SC) clearing the decks for the maiden public meeting of actor Chiranjeevi, his political Advisor P Mitra today said they would go ahead with the meeting as per schedule at Avilala Tank at Tirupati on August 26.

Dr Mitra, along with the matinee idol's brother Nagababu and brother-in-law Allu Aravind, told newspersons here ''the meeting will be held on next Tuesday.'' Coinciding with the birth anniversary of Mother Teresa, the actor, who announced his decision to plunge into politics on August 17, would come out with the party name and flag, besides announcing policies and programmes on that day.

Hearing a petition from a Non-Governmental Organisation Intellectuals Forum, a bench of the apex court today refused to interfere with the permission granted by the Andhra Pradesh government to the filmstar to hold a rally at Avilala Tank.
