Cabinet approves ground water management and regulation scheme

New Delhi, Aug 21 (UNI) The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs(CCA) today approved continuation of the ongoing schemes of 'Ground Water Survey, Exploration and Investigation', 'Current Ground Water Authority' and 'Study of recharge to Ground Water' as one integrated scheme on 'Ground Water Managaement and Regulation.

The scheme would be given Rs 460 Crore during the 11th Plan, an official statement said here.

The Scheme will help in strengthening ground water resource management system, delineation of ground water development worthy areas, developing area-specific artificial recharge and rain water harvesting techniques, development of web-enabled ground water information system for quick dissemination of ground water data, capacity bulding for scientists, planners and other stakeholders and strengthening of coordination and synergy amongst all other stakeholders.

Airport to be reopened for visitors from tonight

Chennai, Aug 21 (UNI) Chennai Domestic and International Airport would be re-opened for visitors from tonight. Airport sources said the airport was closed for the visitors from August six to strengthen the security in view of the Independence Day celebrations. Last night, an unclaimed bag was found at the airport premises. Cabinet clears New Land Records Modernisation Programme

New Delhi, Aug 21 (UNI) A new Centrally-sponsored National Land Records Modernisation Programme (NLRMP) will replace two related schemes and will be implemented in select districts on a pilot basis at a cost of Rs 400 crore before being expanded to cover the entire country in eight years, the Cabinet decided today. NLRMP will replace the Strengthening of Revenue Administration and Updating of Land Records (SRA and ULR) and Computerisation of Land Records (CLR), Information.....
