Assembly special session to be held on August 25

Ranchi, Aug 21 (UNI) Jharkhand Governor Syed Sibte Razi today gave his consent to hold a special session of the Assembly on August 25.

The Madhu Koda led UPA government will go for a floor test on the day after being reduced to minority on August 17 following withdrawal of support by the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha(JMM).

Raj Bhawan sources here said that the five-day Monsoon session, scheduled to begin from September 19, has been cancelled.

JMM president Shibu Soren parted ways with the Koda government, plunging the state in fresh political crisis.

Meanwhile, Mr Soren left for Delhi yesterday to seek a consensus among the UPA's central leadership on the prevalent political situation and the JMM's claim to the chief minister's post.

PM to release postage stamp on Ustad Bismillah Khan

New Delhi, Aug 21 : Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh will release today a commemorative postage stamp on Shehnai Maestro Ustad Bismillah Khan today.
