5 killed, 14 injured in vehicle accident

Dehra Dun, Aug 21 (UNI) At least five people were killed and 14 injured when their vehicle they were traveling in overturned following a landslide near Sera, in Chamoli district of the State last evening.

According to DMMC officials, the accident occurred around 1800 hrs yesterday when the driver of a private Tata Sumo with 19 passengers lost balance following a landslide in the area .

The passengers were on their way to Dura in Chamoli district.

Rescue officials had reached the spot and rescued the injured people they were now undergoing treatment at a local district hospital, officials added.

93 Kashmiri pandit migrants selected in IRP

U'khand govt to implement Sixth Pay Commission

Dehra Dun, Aug 21 (UNI) The Uttarakhand Government has constituted a two-member committee headed by fomer Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Secretary Sushil Kumar Tripathy and Finance Secretary Radha Raturi to implement the recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission. The high-level commission notified yesterday, would be given six months to submit its report, sources said. The commission would be entrusted to suggest ways and means for the implementation of the report, to put the minimum burden.....

10 pc hike in bus fare in Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal, Aug 21: The Madhya Pradesh government has announced ten per cent increase in the bus fare on the demand of private bus operators. Claiming that the bus fare was increased for the first time in the last four years, Transport Minister Himmat Kothari today said the bus operators went on indefinite strike in June this year demanding a hike of 50 per cent in bus fares.
