22 injured as auto turns turtle

Perambalur, Aug 21 (UNI) Twenty-two persons were injured when a autorickshaw in which they were travelling turned upside after it hit against a car at Kalpadinear here yesterday.

Police said the injured hailing from Sirukalappur, were on the way to their residences after attending a marriage when the mishap occurred.

The injured were admitted to Government Hospital here, from where 15 of them were referred to Government Headquarters Hospital in Tiruchirapalli, police added.

U'khand govt to implement Sixth Pay Commission

Dehra Dun, Aug 21 (UNI) The Uttarakhand Government has constituted a two-member committee headed by fomer Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Secretary Sushil Kumar Tripathy and Finance Secretary Radha Raturi to implement the recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission. The high-level commission notified yesterday, would be given six months to submit its report, sources said. Bhopal, Aug 21: The Madhya Pradesh government has announced ten per cent increase in the bus fare on the demand of private bus operators. Dr Verma to head Science Council

Bhopal, Aug 21 (UNI) The Madya Pradesh government has appointed Dr Pramod K Verma as Director General of Madhya Pradesh Science and Technology Council. He replaced Dr Mahesh Sharma, who had resigned, official sources said, adding at present Dr Verma was Professor of Applied Geology in the Ujjain's Vikram University.
