2 Policemen raped Dalit woman, probe initiated

Mainpuri, Aug 21 (UNI) An official probe was ordered today against two police constables for allegedly outraging the modesty of a Dalit woman in Bebar Prakhand area here on Tuesday.

The victim has been sent for medical examination, besides inquiry being initiated against the accused, SSP Krapa Shankar said.

The woman had alleged in an FIR that the two constables had criminally assaulted her at night, when she was on way to home from job.

Victim also charged the duo of threatening her to life if she reported the incident to police, Mr Shankar said.

If the accused found guilty of the crime, they will be terminated from the job with immediate effect, he added.

566 activists court arrest over Amarnath land row

Dhar, MP, Aug 21 (UNI) A total of 566 activists belonging to the BJP and other Hindu outfits courted arrest here today over the Amarnath land row in Kashmir. Earlier, agitators took out a rally and shouted slogans in protest against revoking of land allotted to the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board.
