160 cross sides in Karvan-e-Aman bus in Kashmir

Srinagar, Aug 21 (UNI) As many as 160 residents of the Kashmir valley and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) crossed sides at Aman Setu on the Line of Control (LOC) today after the Karvan-e-Aman Bus Service between Srinagar-Muzaffarbad, capital of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), resumed its journey.

The service was suspended on August 14 in view of the unrest in the state due to Amarnath land row and ''Muzaffarabad chalo'' agitation.

Officials said 60 people arrived here from POK this afternoon.

Among them 42 were visiting the valley for the first time after 1947 while 18 are residents of Kashmir, who returned after meeting their relatives across the border.

Official sources said about four buses with 100 Muzaffarabad- bound passengers left here from an undisclosed place for Kaman post, the last Indian post on the Line of Control (LoC), under tight security arrangements.

They said 32 residents of the Kashmir valley crossed into other side to meet their relatives while 68 returned to their homes in PoK after visiting here.
