Pune, Aug 8: Sandeep Shelke, a 25-year-old software engineer has allegedly committed suicide by jumping off the eighth floor of his office building, situated at ''Sharada Centre'' in Karvenagar area of the city here on Thursday, Aug 7.
Sandeep was an alumnus out of IIT-Bombay and completed his M.Tech. in 2007. Since then he had been working with Persistent Systems as a Team Lead. Sandeep Appa Shelke committed suicide while on duty said Police Sub-Inspector of Deccan police station B N Nimbalkar. He added that police had recovered a suicide note from the deceased's clothes before conducting the post-mortem at the Sassoon Hospital.
In that, Shelke had stated that ''nobody should be held responsible for my death. I was unable to work and very depressed. I try my best to meet work expectations, but still not able to do it.'' PSI Nimbalkar further said Shelke had even sent an SMS to his brother, Youraj, 15 minutes before committing suicide, informing him that he was going to take the extreme step.
The body has been handed over to the family members, he added.
