Chandigarh, Jul 24 (UNI) The Haryana Police has arrested three Bangladeshi nationals in Gurgoan district under its special campaign to nab Bangladeshis living illegally in the state.

The three Bangladeshi nationals arrested by the Police were identified as Zakir Hussain, Rabbani and Ayub, a police spokesman said today.

Besides, 137 proclaimed offenders were arrested in Kaithal district under the police drive to nab anti-social elements in the state.

Police also arrested ten Bangladeshi nationals in Sonepat district recently.

Hilly states' horticulture ministers to meet Delhi CM

Shimla, Jul 24 (UNI) Horticulture Ministers of Himachal Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttrakhand would meet Delhi Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit tomorrow to press for acceptance of long pending demands of the horticulturists of their states who were being fleeced by middlemen in Azadpur Subzi Mandi in Delhi. Himachal Horticulture Minister Narender Bragta, who is Chairman of the hilly states Horticulture Ministers committee, said the ministers would jointly demand implementation of Model Agriculture.....

4 kg heroin recovered in Chandigarh

Chandigarh, July 24 (UNI) Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) today nabbed a drug smuggler and seized 4 kg heroin from him here today. NCB's Regional Director Dr Sazi Mohan today told mediapersons here that the accused Liaqat Ali alias Lakhwinder from Bahlana village of the Union Territory has earlier been to jail for his involvement in smuggling poppy husk and was at present out on bail. Mr Mohan said that Liaqat was nabbed near the Bahlana-Airport crossing.....

80 arrested as workers clash; Former MLA sent to jail

Rourkela, Jul 24 (UNI) Former JMM MLA George Tirkey was arrested and sent to judicial custody till July 29 following a clash between the supporters of three trade unions in which at least five activists and three policemen were injured near the IDL Plant at Somaparvat today. Rival trade union activists clashed after Sundargarh Mazdoor Union, led by Mr Tirkey, obstructed the workers from entering the IDL plant. Sant Samaj demands arrest of Dera Sacha Sauda chief

New Delhi, Jul 24 (UNI) The Sant Samaj, a Sikh group, has been staging a sit-in here since July 20, demanding, among other things, the arrest of Dera Sacha Sauda Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh who it alleges is being encouraged by the people who are against the community.
