Deora assures all possible help for adequate CNG supply in the city

New Delhi, Jul 20 (UNI) Expressing concern over the inadequacy of CNG in the city, Petroleum Minister Murli Deora today said the government will provide all possible assistance and co-operation to ensure ''ample supply'' of the gas in the capital.

''The current inadequacy of CNG supply in Delhi has been largely caused by the increase in demand by CNG buses, taxis, autos, private vehicles coming from neighbouring suburbs particularly NOIDA, Ghaziabad, Gurgaon and Faridabad in National Capital Region (NCR),''Mr Deora said.

He also requested the governments of UP and Haryana to give the required clearances to IGL for opening new CNG stations.

Mr Deora also requested Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit to allot land for 50 more CNG stations and provide single window clearance to tackle CNG demand on war footing, an official statement said.

Paddy worth Rs 5.5 crore seized

Bangalore, Jul 20: Karnataka Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer administration officials seized 59.5 thousand quintals of paddy, worth Rs 5.5 crore, on a raid conducted on two mills in Karatagi village in Gangavathi taluk in Koppal District of Karnataka. Official sources said that raids were conducted on Shree Lakshmi Venkateshwara Trading Company, Shri Lakshmi Srinivas Dyer Industries and Lakshmi Srinivas Industries Mills and 50,000 quintals of rice worth Rs 4.50 crore seized.
