3 pilgrims killed in accident

Ujjain, June 23 (UNI) Three people, including a woman, were killed on the spot and two others seriously injured when a car in which they were travelling collided headon with a truck on Ujjain-Indore road, police said.

Police said Yadunandan Mourya, a fruit vendor of Newton-Palasia in Chhindwara district, along with his family was on their way to Nagda after a pilgrimage to Omkareshwar when they met with the accident near Panthpipalai village, 15 km from here last night.

Besides Mr Mourya, his wife Meerabai and driver were killed.

His sons Shivam and Yash, who were seriously injured, were being treated at the district hospital.

Postmortem of the bodies was being carried out , police added.

Deccan, Kingfisher Airlines announce new MBF

Kolkata, Jun 23: The UB Group-owned Kingfisher Airlines(KA) and Deccan have announced new Minimum Base Fares (MBF) for both the airlines with immediate effect. A KA press release today stated that in the case of Kingfisher, for distances between to 750 kms, the MBF will now be Rs 1,000, Rs 2,250 between 751 to 1,000 kms, and Rs 3,000 for over 1,001 kms. Similarly, in the case of Deccan, the MBF will now be Rs 500 upto 750 kms, Rs 1,500 between.....

PHE daily wagers demand salary of four years in J

Srinagar, Jun 23: Hundreds of Public Health Engineering (PHE) daily-wagers today took to the streets in the city demanding immediate release of four-year salaries. Raising slogans against the state government, they daily wagers said they have not been paid their salaries for the past four years. Despite repeated assurance by the government, nothing has been done so far, they alleged. India to sign IPI gas pipeline deal soon: Deora

Jeddah, Jun 23: Petroleum Minister Murli Deora on Monday, June 23 said that India would soon sign an agreement with Iran and Pakistan on the $7.5 billion transnational pipeline project. After meeting his Iranian counterpart Gholam Hussein Nozari here, Deora said that there were some issues with Pakistan, which have been sorted out. 'Some minor problems' in the project have also been solved. "India has to talk to Pakistan's new oil minister and we hope that the agreement would soon be signed.....
