ASI killed in road mishap

Samastipur, Jun 07: An Assistant Sub-Inspector(ASI) was killed in a road accident near Chainpur village under Musrigharari police station in the district last night.

Police today said the ASI was on way to the police station on his motorbike when a minibus hit the bike injuring him seriously.

He was rushed to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, police added.

Samastipur, Jan 9: The Bihar Vigilance Bureau today arrested a senior government official of Samastipur district while accepting a bribe of Rs 1500. The vigilance sleuths said the Agriculture officer of Khanpur block was arrested following the complaint of one farmer Tantan Jha after the officer demand Rs 1500 from him to clear the sanctioned crop compensation money. Samastipur, Jun 24: The Bihar government is committed to improving the information system in the state to enable the masses to have easy access to the ongoing welfare schemes. State Information minister Ramnath Thakur told reporters here last night that Soochna Bhawans (Information Bhawan) would be constructed in all districts of Bihar, which would be equipped with modern gadgets for faster circulation of requirsite information about the welfare schemes.
