Bosch Systems in aggressive expansion mode

New Delhi, Jun 5: Bosch Security Systems, a division of Bosch Ltd, has announced that it is open to acquisitions and has plans to expand its operations in India. The company has a 20 per cent share in the CCTV surveillance market. It has no manufacturing facility at present in the country, but an after-sale service centre in the high tech city of Bangalore.

Bosch Security Systems Vice-President (India) Dhiraj Wali told the sources that his Company plans to have a full-fledged set up in the country, in view of the growing demand of the product. Mr Wali placed the size of the CCTV surveillance market at Rs 200 crore and felt that the Company can garner a larger slice of the cake. He noted that there were no big manufacturers of security systems in India, but the compnay was looking for inorganic growth.

In last six to seven years, the Company has acquired seven to ten companies all over the world. Acquisitions was a standrad mode of its expansion strategy.

The company recently acquired Canada-based Extreme CCTV Inc which manufactures and supplies active infrared illuminators, integrated day and night cameras with active illuminations and hardened imaging products for use in "extreme" environments.

These systems are suitable for intensely hot or cold climatic conditions.

Bosch Security Systems is the country's largest supplier of security, safety and communication products, offering systems and solutions in the area of video surveillance, access control, intrusion, fire-alarms, public address, congress and professional sound systems.

The solutions are used in transportation (Delhi Metro and Kolkata Metro), retail stores (Great India Mall, Noida), city surveillance, railway stations (Uttar Pradesh's 19 railway stations), prisons (Tihar Jail), airports (Mumbai International Airport) and commercial complexes.

Bosch Security Systems has also brought Intelligent Internet Protocol (IP) CCTV technology for the Indian industry. It will give customers the advantage of IP video benefits-- wireless access anywhere on the network, reduced storage costs, provision of a backup storage system in case of failure, excellent video quality and scalability for enlarging CCTV system.

Bosch's net up 91.5 pc at Rs 124.41cr

New Delhi, Mar 7: Auto parts major Bosch Ltd today said it has registered a phenomenal increase of 91.5 per cent in its net profit at Rs 124.41 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2007 as compared to Rs 64.96 crore for the corresponding period previous year. The total income rose by 17.49 per cent to Rs 1241.87 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2007 from Rs 1056.95 crore in the quarter ended December 31, 2006, a company statement.....
