An official spokesman said here today that Mr Jora during an interaction with the representatives of Marble Industries Association (MIA) assured them that all possible measures will be taken for the revival of the industry since it is fetching a good income to the state.
The MIA, demanding for extension of lease for existing Marble units, said the industry has been badly affected due to turmoil in the valley.
Mr Jora assured that the government will take all the necessary steps for refunctioning of these units and will provide all possible assistance to the industrialists for the revival of the industry.
The official said later, a deputation of Sport Goods Manufacturing Association (SGMA) called on Mr Jora and presented a charter of demands, including proper imposition of ban on export of Kashmir Willow Clefts, cricket bat willow wood and checking on trafficking of willow wood to peeling units.
They also demanded for deregistration of joinery units which do not have rib-shaw and imposition of proper tax on export of semi-finished willow products.
