Santhali film to be screened in international film fest

Jamshedpur, May 14 (UNI) Santhali film 'Sitanale Re Sagun Supari' will be screened in the International Indigenous Film Festival to be held at Kathmandu from June five to eight.

Raghunath Academy of Santhali Cinema and Art (RASCA) Director Surya Singh Besra said the film fest's organiser, Indigenous Film Archive (IFA), had invited RASCA to send a Santhali film for the festival.

There is large population of Santhals in Nepal and the film would provide a great entertainment to the audience, Mr Besra added.

Srinagar, Jan 17: Challenging the ban on muharram processions imposed in the summer capital by authorities in the Jammu and Kashmir High Court, the Intihad-ul-Muslimeen (IuM) said it was a denial of religious and fundamental rights. However, the High Court issued a notice to the authorities seeking objections on a petition filed by the IuM within two weeks without saying anything about processions being taken out tomorrow and on January 20 (8th and 10 day of Muharram month). Pak: 10 killed in US drone attacks in Kurram

Islamabad, Mar 13: US drone attack in Pakistan's Kurram tribal region on Thursday, Mar 12 killed atleast 10 people. The US drone fired at least 4 missiles at a home in a village in Kurram Agency. Though TV channels and locals claimed of seven persons being killed in the attack, no word was issued from the official side. Recently Kurram agency was in media for a major sectarian clashes between Shia and Sunni tribesmen that killed hundreds of people......
