JD(S) would romp home comfortably in poll: HDK

Hubli, May 11: Former Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumarswamy today reiterated that the JD(S) would secure absolute majority in the Karnataka elections. Talking to newspersons here, he said the JD(S) was confident of securing maximum seats in the poll.

He said the first phase of polling had proved beyond doubt that the educated voters did not exercise their franchise while in rural areas heavy-polling was witnessed. However, Mr Kumarswamy alleged that both the Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party were vying with each other and distributing money to the voters. Asserting that he never obstructed the development process of the State, as alleged by the BJP, he said that it was their leader B S Yediyurappa, who was against the loan for farmers and interest waiver.

Value Added Tax(VAT) was the need of the hour for financial growth of the State, he added.
