New Delhi, May 2: The UPA Government is all prepared to cold shoulder the 10th anniversary of the nuclear tests at Pokhran, with which India declared itself a nuclear power.

It was thanks to Pokhran, the present and much sought after Indo-US nuclear deal was based on. For UPA which banks on Nuclear deal so much, this act look seems very un-diplomatic. The agencies involved in executing the Shakti Series of nuclear tests on May 11 and 13, 1998, have been told not to have any public commemoration of the event. Those closely associated with the event are disappointed.

Scientists who were involved in the Pokhran tests believe this as a great discredition to one of the landmarks of India. Dr K Santhanam, a known name in Pokhran test plan says, "Those nations that do not remember their heroes are not cultured nations."

BJP Spokesperson, Prakash Javdekar says, "We gave Indira Gandhi credit, but Congress does not want to see anything beyond the Gandhi family."

As all the Military valours are being coloured politically by either of the Govts, in ignoring Pokhran did the UPA go too far?
