Shimla, May 2: Heat wave conditions are prevailing in the lower parts of Himachal Pradesh with Una town sizzling at 41 degrees Celsius following another sunny day in the state today, the met office said.
Una town was the hottest place in the state at 41 degrees today followed by 39 degrees at Hamirpur town, 37.1 at Mandi and 36.9 at Sundernagar in Mandi district, the met office told UNI here.
It said the maximum temperature at Shimla town fell by a few notches to 26.5 degree Celsius as against 26.9 degrees recorded yesterday.
Bhuntar recorded a day temperature of 34 degrees, while Kalpa's day temperature rose by a few notches to 21.9 degrees as against 21 degree Celsius recorded yesterday.
The maximum temperature at the famous tourist resort of Dharamshala rose to 32.8 degrees as against 32 degrees Celsius recorded yesterday.
However, night temperatures across the state fell by a few notches with the hill state's capital recording a night temperature of 16.9 degrees, as compared to 17.6 degrees Celsius recorded yesterday.
The minimum at Sundernagar was 14.3 degrees, 10 at Bhuntar, 4.5 at Kalpa, 18.5 at Dharamshala, 15.3 at Una and 16 degrees at Mandi town.
The met office has forecast mainly dry weather in the state during the next 24 hrs.
