For this, the KVIB has designed a special package, Member, Khadi and Village Industries Commission North Zone G N Naik said after inaugurating woolen knitting unit at New Colony Pulwama in south Kashmir.
The unit has been established under Rural Employment Generation Programme with a project cost of Rs 2.63 lakh and provides employment to nine people.
The women workers and entrepreneurs informed Mr Naik that woolen products manufactured in the unit have a good market available.
Mr Naik advised the District Officer Pulwama to put forward a proposal regarding training of women aspirants in the district.
Meanwhile, the Chairman, Handicrafts Development Corporation, Haji Abdul Rashid said due to the hard work of artisans, the Kashmiri Handicrafts has created a name in the world market.
He stressed on the need for eliminating role of intermediaries for making the corporation more vibrant.
