Government to cut steel prices, says Kamal Nath

New Delhi, Apr 19, 2008 : Union Commerce and Industry Minister Kamal Nath, has said that the government is considering steps to curb price in a bid to control inflation. Steel prices have been on the raise for the past few months, which contributed to the rising inflation in India.

Earlier, The Reserve Bank of India said that it was raising the cash reserve ratio, the proportion of deposits banks must keep with it, by 50 basis points to 8 percent to calm inflation.

The Union Budget is disappointing: Nitish

Patna, Feb 28: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today described the Union Budget as ''disappointing'' saying that the most sought ''special package'' has not been given to the state.Mr Kumar told newspersons here that the people of Bihar were frustrated with the budget of the UPA government as no new project had been earmarked for the state. He said instead of according special category to Bihar, it has been placed in the list of the states selected for Backward.....
