Congress hopeful of an electoral win in Karnataka

New Delhi, April 19, 2008 : India's ruling Congress party has expressed hopes of achieving victory in the forthcoming polls in Karnataka. The polls are scheduled to be held in three phases during the month of May. Veerappa Moily, a senior Congress leader stated that his party aimed to win at least 135 to 140 seats out of the total 224 assembly seats during the polls which will be held on May 10, 16 and 22.

Commenting on the issue of a stable government in the state, Moily said the Congress is the only party which can provide a credible and stable government.

Prakash to join Congress on January 27: Kharge
