Prostitution racket busted

Bangalore, Apr 24: Police today arrested eight people, including two girls from Turkmanistan, on charges of indulging in prostitution in the city.

M K Mulla, DCP (Crime), told UNI that based on a tip off, police raided an apartment in the city and arrested two foreigners. They were identified as Dinara Husainova and Tazegul Seyidova of Turkmenbad and Kelejar towns in Turkmanistan respectively.

Two others were identified as Smitha of Bangalore and Ayesha of Mysore. Three customers and a pimp were also arrested, he said.

Police seized RS 14,000 in cash and four cell phones from their possession.

The racket had inter-state connections and the kingpin of the racket Santosh was absconding, the DCP added.

Cauvery: Complete shutdown of K'taka on Feb 12
