Presence of Mcgrath, Maharoof would help young pacers: Lillee

New Delhi, Apr 24 (UNI) Former Australian pace legend Dennis Lillee, who is the advisor of the Delhi Daredevils in the IPL, today asserted that the presence of expeirenced fast bowlers in the team will help the youngsters a lot.

''Sharing the same dressing rooms with Glenn McGrath, Mohammad Asif and Farveez Maharoof can be the best learning process for youngsters like Pradeep Sangwan and Yo Mahesh,'' Lillee told mediapersons here.

Stating that these youngsters, who are relatively new to the international arena, will know the bowling tactics from none other than former Australian fast bowler Glenn McGrath, Lillee said they will become very good pacers after the lucrative tourney.

''Knowing the tactics from Glenn that how he bowls in tight situations, how he reacts after being hit for three boundaries consecutively will give immense knowledge and confidence to these young pacers,'' he said.

The Australian pace bowling legend was impressed with the team specially with the bowlers, and said that T20 format is tilted towards batsmen so the team who have strong bowling lineup can win the tournament and Delhi is looking to exploit due to the presence of quality bowlers.

''Considering both the department spin and pace we have a very good bowling attack. Before Asif it was a good attack but now he has joined the squad we have strongest attack in the tournament,'' he informed.

However, replying to a question that abscence of Shoaib Akhtar will hamper the chances odf Delhi Daredevils of winning the tournament, Lilee said one person does not make series or tournament.

''Shoaib is one of the greatest bowler. We love to see him here, his presence will be added advantage for the team but one man does not make the series or tournament,'' he said.

Rs 1,926 cr worth trade at NCDEX

Mumbai, Apr 24 (UNI) Around 471 members (2,353 users) participated in trading at the NCDEX today, up to 1700 hrs and traded volumes worth Rs 1,926 crore (one-way). There were more than 55,304 trades put through by them, a National Commodities and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX) release issued here stated. Active trades were high in guar seed, soya oil, chana, rape, mustard seed and jeera. Yesterday, 470 members (2,339 users) participated in trading and put through.....

Composite index of metals, energy decline

Mumbai, Apr 24 (UNI) The composite index of metal and energy declined by 2,829.82 points at the Multi-Commodity Exchange (MCX) here today. MCX Energy index shed 0.29 per cent at 3,574.05. Among gold contracts, October 2008 contract was down 0.71 pc at Rs 11,770 per 10 gm and June 08 contract was down 0.47 pc at Rs 11,685 per 10 gm. All silver contracts lost, including December 08 contract by 1.56 pc at Rs 23,274 per.....
