Nicholas Piramal Q4 net rises 317.16% to Rs 112.3 cr

New Delhi, Apr 24 (UNI) Nicholas Piramal India Ltd today said it has posted a whopping increase of 317.16 per cent in its net profit for the quarter ended March 2008 to Rs 112.3 crore as compared to Rs 26.92 crore in the corresponding period last year.

The company said in a statement that its total income for the quarter increased 33.5 per cent to Rs 516.98 crore from Rs 387.21 crore in the same period a year ago.

Its net profit for the year ended March 31, 2008 jumped 60.12 per cent to Rs 301.48 crore from Rs 188.28 crore.

The Total Income for FY08 increased 18.2 per cent to Rs 1,938.07 crore from Rs 1,639.88 crore.

The Group posted a jump of 141.7 per cent in its net profit for the quarter ended March 31, 2008 to Rs 132.82 crore as against Rs 54.95 crore in the same period a year ago.

The Group total income for the quarter increased 19 per cent to Rs 767.90 crore wheras it was Rs 645.21 crore in the same period a year ago.

The Group's net profit for the year ended March 31, 2008 jumped 53.07 per cent to Rs 333.78 crore as against Rs 218.05 crore a year ago.

Its FY08 total income increased 16.44 per cent to Rs 2,878.91 crore from Rs 2,472.32 crore.
