New Assembly complex will be a reality: PWD Minister

Chennai, Apr 24 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu Government will overcome all obstacles in constructing a new Secretariat complex in the city, PWD Minister Duraimurugan told the state Assembly today.

When Mr C Gnanasekaran (Congress) raised the issue of a PIL filed in the Madras High Court opposing demolition of a school of orphans in the Government Estate here to the pave way for proposed Legislative Assembly complex, he alleged some people were deliberately trying to put the spokes.

''The Government will thwart those moves'', he added.

Mr Duraimurugan also announced that several poor children were studying in the school and the Government had decided to construct a new school building for them near the Napier's park at a land belonging to the PWD department.

Due to increase in traffic, the students were finding it difficult to cross the main road, following which the Government had decided to construct a new school.

Brit mum pleads guilty to letting 3-year-old son smoke

London, Jan 23 (ANI): A 24-year-old Brit woman has pleaded guilty for allowing her three-year-old son to smoke.Kelly Pocock was arrested and charged with cruelty to a child under 16.Natasha Dudley, 25, a family friend, was astonished to see the child puffing away while his mum was on the phone in the same room.She said it looked like the youngster had been smoking for "years".Worried Dudley used her mobile to film him and showed.....
