Maoists kill police informer in Malkangiri

Malkangiri, Apr 24 (UNI) Maoists allegedly shot dead a youth for ''being a police informer'', at Telrai Square under MV79 Police station in the district late last night.

Malkangiri Superintendent of Police S A Gojbhiye today said the deceased was yet to be identified. He was shot dead last night and the body was found lying on the Telrai square this morning.

The SP said the victim's body bore bullet wounds on his skull and chest and his hands were tied up behind him with a rope.

The Maoists left behind a letter claiming reponsibility for the murder stating that he was a police informer.

The Special Operations Group (SOG) and the CRPF jawans were on the spot and a combing operation had been launched to nab the Maoists.
