Mah lifts ban on sale of Lakholi Dal (gram)

Mumbai, Apr 24 (UNI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh today announced in the state legislative Assembly, the government's decision to lift the ban on sale of Lakholi Dal (gram), which is the major produce in Vidarbha region.

Making a statement on the issue, raised by Nana Patole (Cong), Mr Deshmukh said an in-principle decision has been taken on lifting the ban.

He said, however, the opinion of the Advocate General would be taken to solve the technical hitches in the matter.

The ban had been earlier imposed as the Dal was certified 'not suitable' for consumption.

Road map for development in Assam

Guwahati, Apr 24 (UNI) Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today announced a long road map to develop key sectors ranging from education to agriculture in the next decade. Heat wave condition continues in Gangetic West Bengal

Kolkata, Apr 24 (UNI) Heat wave conditions continued in five districts of Gangetic West Bengal with Bankura recording the maximum temperature of 44.5 degrees Celsius today. UAE carriers to fly to Calicut

New Delhi, Apr 24 (UNI) The designated airlines of the UAE will now fly to Calicut with India and the United Arab Emirates revising air service operations, enhancing their aircraft capacity. In an agreement signed here yesterday, the designated airlines of the two countries are entitled to operate up to 54,200 seats per week in each direction, an addition of 23,000 per week.
