New Delhi, Apr 23 (UNI) The Government was asked today to allocate funds to alleviate the sufferings of the tribals of Dang district in Gujarat in view of their miserable condition.
During the Special Mention in the Rajya Sabha, Mr Praveen Rashtrapal of the Congress sought to know from the government whether at the time of independence the government had not signed any merger agreement with the tribal leaders and what steps were taken to protect the rights of tribal people. He also wanted the government to spend crores of rupees collected as revenue from the region for the economic empowerment of tribal people.
