Bangalore, Apr 24 (UNI) Accenture, a leading global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company, will recruit 60,000 people globally, including 13,000 in India during 2008, Company Chairman and CEO William (Bill) D Green said today.
Addressing a press conference here, he said with this, the head count in Accenture globally would go upto 2.38 lakh working in 50 countries and 50,000 in India by end 2008.
Last year also, the company recruited 60,000 people, including 10,000 in India.
To a question, he said that the company, which had invested 780 million US Dollar on building a strong training facility, did not face any problem in non-availability or shortage of qualified hands.
"We recruit personnel and give them vigorous training at our centres both in India and abroad. So we dont experience non-availability of qualified hands," he said.
About the slowdown in US economy, Mr Green said ''the business is continuing well. The slowdown in US economy has not affected Accenture.'' Mr Green said the company, whose global revenues for 2007 touched 19.70 billion USD, expected a growth rate of nine to 12 per cent and the revenue may cross 24 billion USD in 2008.
About acquisition plans, he said the company was not averse to the idea but it should be a core company and meet its geographical expansion plans.
''Our main aim is to give more footprint and in this process, we want more management consultancy companies. We think about how do we leverage on our global foot print, which is second to none.'' UNI MSP GM 1629
