ACC Q4 net stands at Rs 357.54 cr

New Delhi, Apr 24 (UNI) Cement maker ACC Ltd today said its net profit for the quarter ended March 2008 stood at Rs 357.54 crore, whereas it was at Rs 355.65 crore during the same quarter last year.

The company, 41 per cent owned by Swiss cement maker Holcim, said in a statement that its total income for the quarter ended March 2008 rose to Rs 1,861.37 crore, as against Rs 1,728.46 crore in the same period a year ago.

The Mumbai-based firm transferred its ready-mix concrete business to its wholly-owned subsidiary ACC Concrete Ltd, with effect from January 1, for a consideration of Rs 100 crore, subject to adjustment on finalisation of the net assets transferred.

Consequent to the transfer of this business, the company has only a single segment comprising its cement operations.

Srinagar Apr 24 (UNI) A fire broke out in the residence of former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed at Gupkar while three houses and other structures were gutted elsewhere in the Valley, official sources said today.
