Britain backs Pak, Afghanistan on anti-terrorism

Peshawar, April 21, 2008: British Foreign Secretary, David Miliband has said that his country backs efforts to reconcile with Islamist militants on the Afghanistan-Pakistan border. However, he also said that there is no quick solution to terrorism, either through military means or negotiations.

The Afghanistan Pakistan border is the major source of terrorism that Britain faces. Miliband also said that Britain wanted to work very closely with Pakistan on security issues.

Woman, three men, killed for adultery in Pakistan

Peshawar, Pakistan, June 5: Pakistani villagers shot dead a woman and three men in a public execution after a tribal council found them guilty of adultery, a witness and government officials said today. Sex out of marriage is a crime in overwhelmingly Muslim Pakistan and punishable by stoning to death under Islamic laws, although that punishment has never officially been meted out.
