Karunya signs Mou with Jasmin Infotech

Coimbatore, Apr 22 (UNI) A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between Karunya University and Jasmin Infotech Private Limited, a leading software and hardware development company in Chennai, today.

The MoU would provide an opportunity for the students to get trained under close industry expert guidance to pursue their higher studies, a University release said here.

The other major initiatives under this MoU were the establishment of a 'Centre of Excellence in Signal Processing' at the University premises, guidance for the students in project work and laboratory exercises by the company professionals, running a co-certification course on 'Signal Processing', deputation of company employees for higher studies to the University and short term deputation of company employees to the University with a view to update their knowledge in selected areas.

In another function, Chancellor Dr Paul Dinakaran inaugurated the Wi Fi Communication Facility in the campus.

The facility, costing Rs ten crore, would facilitate the users to access internet and intranet through laptops from the Wi Fi hot spots from any part of the University, the release added.

Indian national abducted in Herat province of Afghanistan

Govt adopts multi-pronged strategy, bans 32 org to counter terrorism

New Delhi, Apr 22 (UNI) The Government has adopted a multi-pronged approach and strategy, including banning of 32 groups as terrorist organisations under the provisions of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, to curtail the incidents of terrorism sponsored by Pakistan-based organisations.
