Hundreds of schools and hospitals closed in Kangan in J

Srinagar, Apr 22 (UNI) The National Conference, the main Opposition party in Jammu and Kashmir, has alleged that hundreds of schools and hospitals in Gujjar-dominated Kangan area were closed.

A senior NC leader and Gujjar leader Mian Altaf Ahmad alleged that Assembly constituencies being represented by the opposition members were being discriminated in developmental activities by the coalition government.

Even the government has ''failed'' to provide basic facilities to the common people these constituencies, he alleged.

The former Minister said hundreds of schools and hospitals in Kangan stand closed owing to shortage of staff.

Mr Altaf claimed that the NC had done a lot for the overall development of Schedule Tribes, Schedule Castes and Other backward classes of the state.

He cautioned the Gujjar community to exercise their franchise with utmost care during the ensuing Assembly elections.
