Mumbai, Apr 22 (UNI) Shiv Sena MLC Diwakar Raote today raised the issue of loan waiver for farmers in the Legislative Council in the backdrop of Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar's statement that further loan waiver was not possible.
Mr Raote tried to raise the issue through an adjournment motion.
However, he was opposed by Gurunath Kulkarni (NCP).
Water Conservation Minister Ajit Pawar said the issue could be taken up for discussion through other means.
Chairman Shivajirao Deshmukh said the issue would be taken up for discussion later this week.
