New Delhi, Apr 21 (UNI) Time taken and costs involved were acknowledged by Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterji tonight among ''grey areas'' of justice system that need looking into.

A senior advocate himself, Chatterjee was answering questions after releasing a book on Investing in India published by FoxMandal Little, a firm of solicitors and advocates.

''Certainly those grey areas should be looked into,'' the Speaker said, recalling instances when litigants resorting to arbitration have had to compromise on their claims because the process goes on and on.

The 204-page book Chatterjee released is intended as a sort of primer for prospective investors.

No constraint of funds for modernisation of forces: Antony

New Delhi, Apr 21 (UNI) Defence Minister A K Antony today asserted that funds would never be a constraint in the modernisation of the armed forces, but at the same time called for judicious and optimal utilisation of allocations to avoid wastage and duplication. Bhagirathi's 8 km stretch drying up; member

New Delhi, Apr 21 (UNI) Quoting satellite imagery of Google Earth, CPI(M) member Rupchand Pal today said an eight kilometre long stretch of Bhagirathi river has dried up. Raising the issue during zero hour in the Lok Sabha, the Marxist member said the dried-up patch of the river was just one km in 2004, adding that the fast recession of the river was alarming and the government must take notice and initiate the necessary measures.....
